Join us as volunteer!

Opportunities to become part of the organizing team for the 4th South Shore Science Festival or to be a volunteer are available now!

IF YOU WANT TO BE A VOLUNTEER DURING THE DAY OF THE FESTIVAL YOU NEED TO, REGISTER HERE, (Select the ticket VOLUNTEERS the last ticket option from the list).

  • if we have met before you can come on the day of the festival,
  • if not, you need to come on April 12th or on April 20th to the Quincy Center for Innovation at 6:00 pm to meet with the organizing team before the festival.

 

 

Below are descriptions of volunteer opportunities.

We have many types of volunteer activities, please take a look. If interested or any questions, please send us a note to team@southshorescience.org and we will contact you.

Science Festival team coordinators

Team coordinators and committed volunteers will spend approximately 2 to 4 hours per week between now and April 20, 2018

We also have opportunities for volunteers that want to contribute to STEM awareness in children with as little as 1 hour per month. Please contact us for details.

Organizing team volunteers

If you would like to become a member of the organizing team for 2018, please let us know. We always welcome deeply committed people that are willing to dedicate up to 2 to 8 hours per week between now and March 2018, few more hours per week in April. Please contact us for details.

Become part of the leadership team

Or even more, part of the leadership team, 8 to 16 hours per week between now and March 2018, few more in April and some between the following August and October. Please contact us for details.

Time to register your Science Festival workshop

On October 20th we had the opportunity to recognize the valuable volunteers and presenters from this year, at that time we kicked-off the preparation of the South Shore Science Festival IV scheduled on April 21st, 2018.

 

The key to success of the festival has been your presentations and workshops. Every time we have more and more presenters that want to be part of it.

Thus, we ask you to please take a few minutes of your busy week and register your workshop, presentation or booth.

If you have different activities, such as a booth and a presentation in a classroom, please register each one individually.

Another Great Success at our Volunteer Recognition Event!

Thank you to all the presenters and volunteers who came , and we also appreciate the company of Massachusetts Representative Tackey Chan who joined us, too.

A good time was had by all.  Each of the participants shared their experience from this past April and you could sense eagerness to be part of the next South Shore Science Festival — our 4th — in 2018.  Getting to know each other this way is not only a positive thing for the festival itself, it’s fun.
